Classic in a fucked up sort of way.

Mario: Game Over

Video of the Moment

A parody of what it would be like if the Super Mario Brothers were “real” people. Seems to make a lot more sense than the Original Super Mario Brothers Movie.

Christmas Comes But (Twice) A Year

Video of the Moment & Christmas in July

I thought I’d do something for July. It’s technically not July until tomorrow, but I’m going to make Saturday the day I post these. Every Saturday in July I am going to post a Christmas-related Video of the Moment post. During the week I may also sprinkle in a Link of the Moment or a few Christmas-related posts.

We’re going to start with one of my favorite Christmas cartoons: Christmas Comes But Once a Year. I always used to watch this video on Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and just recently found the full cut. Enjoy!

War of the Servers

Wow, when I saw this on Digg I was a bit skeptical, what with it being an hour plus, but then I watched the trailer for War of the Servers and was taken a-back. It looks so kick-ass.

What this is is a film about Garry’s Mod made in Garry’s Mod. Apparently the story is about Mingebags (the equivalent of Lamers/n00bs on GMod servers) causing lag spikes and running amok.

The preview reads:

In 2007, The Gmod servers go to war, from PHWOnline And RS Films comes “War of the Servers”, Directed by Robert Stoneman and starring voices from Chris Duggan (PHWRadio DJ), Robert Stoneman (PHWRadio DJ and Slapdash 1 and 2), Richard Biosvert (Slapdash 1 and 2), David Zimmerman (PHW Comic Maker), Nick Bertke, Jordan Brindle and Ben Stoneman. Based on the musical “Jeff Wayne’s musical of War of the Worlds” This action/parody adventure follows one players story to get to his friends before the servers crash.

Robert Stoneman is Steinmann, a player who enjoys G-mod server life, building, creating, and having fun with other player’s. Being a part of the PHW community, he has met alot of friends online playing in Gmod servers from role play to LUA gamed servers. But on one late day on MJ’s serious builders only server, the server begins to lag, he finds out it’s not just the server he is in… Its everywhere… and the lag spikes are coming from the new players; GMod 9.0.4 Servers… Moments later during the game, Steinmann and the other players notice a mess of contraptions in the middle of the map, when strangely fog appears. Players gather around this mess and what is seen and what arises from that mess…will change the servers forever. Before anyone can react, it removes everything in sight.

I first saw GMod on a show on G4 (though it may have been before the Comcast takeover when it was still TechTV) and loved the thought of it. I’ve always loved Sandbox games and this was obviously THE Sandbox Game of Sandbox Games. I was so obsessed with it that I bought Half-Life 2 specifically for this mod. I’ll admit, I’m not a huge Half-Life fan (never played the first one) but the mod, in my eyes, was worth buying the game for alone. Of course, it also came with Counter-Strike: Source and I fell in love with that.

Anyway, I’ve had hours of fun on both the free and pay version of GMod, and this movie seems right up my ally. I think I’m going to download it through the torrent with Democracy.

To download it, go here and click “View Film”. You have the choice of downloading it in two parts from multiple mirrors or, as stated, with the torrent. The trailer is also on this page.

Once I download it and get around to watching maybe I’ll post a review.
